Description: -

  • A steel idli maker with 3 plates or racks is a kitchen utensil used to prepare idlis, which are a traditional South Indian dish made from fermented rice and lentil batter.
  • Construction: The idli maker is usually made of stainless steel, which is durable and easy to clean.
  • Idli plates: Each idli plate is perforated with several small depressions or molds for pouring the idli batter.
  • Capacity: A 3-plate idli making machine can normally produce around 12 idli.

Use:

  • Grease the dishes: Lightly grease the idli molds with oil or ghee to prevent the idlis from sticking.
  • Pour the batter: Pour the fermented idli batter into each idli dish mold, filling them about three-quarters full.
  • Stack the plates: If your idli maker has a center rod, stack the idli plates on top of each other, ensuring there is enough space between the plates for steam to circulate.
  • Steam: Fill the bottom pot of the idli maker with water, making sure it doesn't touch the bottom of the idli dishes. Cover the pot with a lid and place it on the stove over medium heat.
  • Cooking: Steam the idlis for about 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through. You can check if they're cooked by inserting a toothpick into the center of an idli; if it comes out clean, they're ready.

With proper care and maintenance, a 3-plate steel idli maker can be a durable and versatile addition to your kitchen for preparing delicious and nutritious idlis at home.
