DESCRIPTION - Chickpea (Macrotyloma uniflorum) is a legume crop widely cultivated and consumed in India since ancient times. It is a protein-rich lentil with countless health benefits that will make you wonder if it's a medicine. It is also useful in your effort to control your weight. You can sprout it, turn it into a powder to accompany rice, or make a soup. It is known to generate heat, and traditional wisdom recommends pairing it with foods that have a cooling effect on the body.
PREPARATION AND USE -
Horse gram, tomato, tamarind, jeera, black peppercorns, garlic, mustard seeds, asafoetida, oil, curry leaves, coriander, salt.
Soak the horse gram overnight.
• Wash and cook with 2 cups of water. Strain and set aside.
• Soak 1/2 tamarind the size of a lemon in 1/2 cup of water.
• Coarsely grind the jeera, black pepper, and garlic pods.
• Take a frying pan and heat the oil.
• Crunchy mustard seeds.
• Add the ground spices and sauté for one minute.
• Add chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and sauté until soft.
• Add the reserved boiled horse gram water and tamarind extract.
• Add asafoetida and the required salt.
• When it starts to boil, add cilantro and turn off the heat.
• Serve warm with hot rice.
