Description and use -
Kamarkas consists of small, dark red, shiny flakes. Kamarkas is an odorless herb with a strong, spicy flavor. The flakes are sticky when chewed, producing bright red saliva in the mouth.

It is used by women during pregnancy and after childbirth as a remedy for back pain and weakness. This herb is very effective for women with delicate bodies. In Pakistan, women use kamarkas herb to overcome body pain, weakness, and muscle flexibility. It also helps reshape the body after childbirth.

Ways to use Kamarkas -

1. Shape of Laddu (Laddoos):
Ingredients: Kamarkas gum, edible gum (gond), whole wheat flour, sugar or jaggery, ghee, nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios), cardamom powder.
Method: Fry Kamarkas in ghee until puffed.

  • Fry the edible gum in the same ghee; set aside.
  • Toast the whole wheat flour until golden brown.
  • Crush or powder Kamarkas and edible gum.
  • Mix all the ingredients with sugar or jaggery and cardamom powder.
  • Shape into laddoos.

Usage: Consume 1 or 2 laddoos daily, preferably in the morning or with warm milk.

2. Kamarkas powder:
Method:

  • Lightly toast the Kamarkas gum.
  • Grinding it into a fine powder.
  • Optionally, mix with dried ginger, fennel seeds and sugar.

Usage: Take 1 teaspoon of this powder daily with milk or warm water.

3. Kamarkas infusion (herbal tea):
Method:

  • Boil 1 teaspoon of Kamarkas in a cup of water for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Strain to remove residue.
  • Add honey or sugar to taste and a pinch of cardamom if desired.

Usage: Drink this tea once or twice a day.
