Sample Recipe: Bisibele Bhath
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice
- 1/2 cup toor dal (split peas)
- 2 tablespoons MTR Bisibele Bhath Powder
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- Assorted vegetables (carrots, green beans, peas), chopped
- 1 tablespoon of tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- For seasoning: mustard seeds, curry leaves, cashews
Instructions:
- Cook the rice and toor dal separately until soft and set aside.
- In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once they begin to pop, add curry leaves and cashews.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then add tomatoes and cook until softened.
- Add the chopped vegetables, tamarind paste, and MTR Bisibele Bhath Powder. Mix well and cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the cooked rice and dal to the mixture. Mix well and simmer for a few minutes.
