
Butter Chicken
This is a special recipe that will delight young and old alike.
Serve with naan bread ( Traditional Garlic Naan Bread / Baked Naan Bread )
Ingredients for four people:
For the marinade:
• 1kg of chicken thighs
• 1 natural yogurt (125 g)
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 1 chopped green chili
• 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger
• salt to taste
• 1/4 tablespoon of turmeric powder
For the sauce:
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 2 crushed tomatoes
• 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt
• 1 tablespoon of coriander powder
• 1/4 tablespoon chili powder
• 1/4 tablespoon of turmeric powder
• 1 tablespoon butter chicken masala
• 1 tablespoon of garam masala
• 1 tablespoon of cashew powder
• 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
• 1 small glass of water
• a handful of chopped cilantro
Preparation:
1. Mix all the marinade ingredients and let the chicken marinate for 2-3 hours.
2. Preheat the oven. Roast the chicken for 30 minutes at 200°C. When it's cooked through,
remove the bones and set the meat aside in a container.
3. Fry the garlic in a pan with very hot oil until it turns brown.
4. Season with ginger and chili, and stir a couple of times. Finally, add the
chopped tomatoes. Mix well.
5. Add the yogurt and leave it on the heat until the liquid has evaporated and formed
a denser mixture.
6. Add the spices and mix everything together gently. Add the chicken.
7. Pour the glass and bring it to a boil for about 5 minutes.
8. Let it cook for about 15 minutes over low heat.
9. Before serving the chicken, add the butter and season with freshly chopped cilantro.
