A heartwarming scene of a mother and daughter cooking together, celebrating family traditions and authentic Indian recipes in a rustic kitchen.

Desi Gourmet Mother-Daughter Recipe Blog Launched!

As the owner of Desi Gourmet, my role isn't just to sell Indian products. I know that "curry" doesn't mean the same thing to Spaniards as it does to the British. However, Spain is increasingly international; young and old alike are eager to explore the culinary world. Bloggers prove this every day! There are excellent examples of Spanish blogs that stray from their traditional culinary habits.

My goal is to help you prepare Indian recipes like I did with my daughters. Both grew up in Madrid, becoming one of the first generations of Spanish-Indians. Preserving the culinary traditions wasn't easy, but over the years, the recipes began to speak for themselves. They always loved bringing friends home to try their parents' homemade dishes.

However, when they flew the nest to study and then work, they discovered thousands of recipes from around the world at their disposal. They explored Afghan, Thai, Nordic, and Mexican cuisines, preparing everything from Californian brunches to bento (Japanese lunch boxes).

Now they've returned to their roots. Every day they call me, write to me on WhatsApp, and email me, asking me how to prepare this or that. Even dishes that were never their favorites. They want to know the recipes Mom and Dad made at home when they were little and publish them on a blog.

So they're going to take over managing the Desi Gourmet website to share their progress, this return to their childhood. I know they'll shorten the recipe times and modernize them as much as possible. I want to invite you to join them on this journey.

I hope you enjoy it. Naturally, you're welcome to comment and ask questions, but the most important thing is to respect the space we're creating. Enjoy!
